Account & Payment Verification: An Overview
Cointiply pays out real cryptocurrency, so we take the security of your account — and your Coins — seriously. Sometimes, before a withdrawal is processed, we'll ask you to complete one or more quick verification steps. This article explains what that means, why it happens, and what to expect.
What is verification?
Verification is a routine security check that confirms you are the real owner of your account. Depending on your situation, it may include one or more of these steps:
- Phone verification — confirm a phone number with a one-time SMS code.
- Selfie verification — take a photo of yourself holding a short handwritten note.
- ID document — upload a photo of a government-issued ID.
- Secure identity check (Persona) — complete a guided ID, address, or liveness check in a secure window.
Most users are only ever asked for one or two of these steps — many withdrawals require none at all.
Why does Cointiply do this?
Verification protects you and the Cointiply community:
- It protects your balance. If someone else gains access to your account, verification stops them from withdrawing your Coins.
- It keeps rewards sustainable. Stopping fraud and duplicate accounts means more rewards for genuine users.
- It's standard practice. Like exchanges and other platforms that handle cryptocurrency, we verify identity when risk signals call for it.
Being asked to verify is not an accusation and doesn't mean anything is wrong with your account. It's a routine security measure.
How does it work?
- You request a withdrawal as normal.
- If verification is needed, you'll receive an email titled "Additional Verification Required" and see a banner on your payments page.
- Follow the link to your verification page and complete the listed steps — they're shown one at a time with clear instructions.
- Once all steps pass, your withdrawal automatically moves into the normal processing queue (typically within 24–48 hours).
Your withdrawal is held safely the whole time — your Coins never disappear during verification.
How long do I have?
You have 30 days to complete verification. If you don't finish in time, the withdrawal is cancelled and your Coins are refunded to your account balance automatically. You can withdraw again whenever you're ready.
Do I have to verify every time?
No. Completed verification steps stay valid for a long time — phone verification lasts about 6 months, and identity document checks last about a year. Long-time users with a healthy payout history are asked to verify less often.
