ID Document Verification
Some verification flows include an ID Document step, where you upload a photo of a government-issued ID. This confirms your identity and usually appears alongside phone and selfie verification.
Accepted documents
Any current government-issued photo ID works, including:
- Driver's license
- Passport
- National ID card
The document should be valid (not expired) and belong to you.
How to upload
- On the ID Document step of your verification page, choose how to submit: upload a file, use your webcam, or scan the QR code to continue on your phone.
- Take a clear photo of your ID.
- Submit and wait a moment while it's checked.
Photo requirements
- All four corners of the document must be visible.
- The printed photo on the ID must be clearly visible.
- Text should be sharp and readable — avoid glare, shadows, and blur.
- Use the original physical document, not a photocopy or a photo of a screen.
One ID, one account
Each person may verify only one Cointiply account. If your document was already used to verify a different account, you'll see a message saying the ID is already linked to another account. If you believe this is a mistake, contact support.
Retries
Like the selfie step, you get several attempts per round, with a cooldown between rounds. If your photo doesn't pass, the page tells you and you can try again with a clearer shot. If all attempts are used, you'll be directed to contact support for a manual review.
Privacy
Your ID photo is used only for verification and handled securely. It's never shared publicly.
