Selfie Verification Guide
Some withdrawals include a Selfie Verification step. You'll take a photo of yourself holding a piece of paper with a short handwritten note. This proves there's a real person behind the account — you — and it only takes a couple of minutes.
What you'll be asked to do
The verification page shows you exactly what to write. It's always something simple, for example:
Take a selfie of yourself holding a piece of paper with "Cointiply" and today's date handwritten on it. Your face must be clearly visible.
The exact wording varies — it may include today's date, a short code, or your Cointiply username. Always follow the instruction shown on your page, since each attempt gets its own challenge.
How to submit
You can submit your selfie three ways:
- Upload a file from your device.
- Use your webcam directly on the page.
- Scan the QR code shown on the page to continue on your phone — usually the easiest option, since phone cameras take better photos.
Tips for passing on the first try
- Handwrite the note — printed or typed text won't pass.
- Write everything the instruction asks for (text, date, code, or username as shown).
- Hold the paper next to your face, not covering it.
- Make sure both your face and the writing are clearly readable — good lighting, no blur, no sunglasses or face coverings.
- Take the photo fresh — old or reused photos won't pass.
Retries and cooldowns
You get several attempts per round. If a round runs out, there's a 60-minute break before you can try again — the page shows a countdown, and we'll also email you when you can retry. There are a few rounds in total.
If all rounds are used up, the page will say we need to take a closer look, with a button to contact support. A team member will review your case personally.
Privacy
Your selfie is used only to verify your withdrawal and is handled securely. It's never shared publicly or used for anything else.
