Gem Storm: The Tap-to-Bank Vault Event

Gem Storm is a short, interactive event in Crack the Vault. The vault springs a leak and loose Gems rain across the scene — you tap them to fill a collection meter, and every full meter banks a fixed Gem reward straight to your account. It's a fun, fast burst of free Gems with no spending required.

When does it happen?

Gem Storm is one of the vault's random live events — you can't schedule it. It fires on its own when at least a few players have been around recently (a rain of Gems nobody can grab would be wasted), and it's deliberately kept rare so it stays a treat. When one starts, you'll see a "GEM STORM!" announcement and the Gems begin to fall. Each storm lasts about 3 minutes.

How to play

  1. When the storm starts, tap the falling Gems as fast as you can.
  2. Each Gem you tap fills your collection meter (currently 100 Gems tapped to fill one meter).
  3. Fill the meter and it automatically banks a reward — currently 1,000 Gems — straight to your account. No claim button to hunt for.
  4. Keep going: you can bank up to 2 full meters per storm (about 2,000 Gems at the current values), then the reward stops for that event even if you keep tapping.

The faster and more accurately you tap, the more you bank before the storm passes.

Limits & fairness

Gem Storm is fun but tightly bounded, and every reward is re-checked on the server so it can't be spoofed:

  • Per-event cap — a fixed number of full meters per player per storm (currently 2).
  • Spawn-rate ceiling — you can never bank faster than Gems could physically fall, which blocks auto-tappers and scripts.
  • Daily Gem cap — Gem Storm payouts count toward your normal per-day Gem limit for events, so a lucky run of storms won't exceed it.

Good to know

  • Gems have no cash value. Like all Gems, Gem Storm rewards are an in-game currency for Crack the Vault — you spend them on gear to attack the vault, and they can't be withdrawn. Only Coins (10,000 Coins = $1) are withdrawable.
  • You don't need to be attacking the vault to join a storm — just be in Crack the Vault when it fires and start tapping.
  • Exact numbers (meter size, reward, number of meters, duration) can be tuned by the team, so treat the figures above as the current setup.
