Live Trivia: Real-Time Trivia in Community Chat
Live Trivia is a scheduled, real-time trivia game that runs right inside Community Chat. Cointibot hosts it: everyone in the room plays the same questions at the same time in a shared lobby, races to answer fastest, and the top finishers win Gems.
Live Trivia is different from the solo Trivia Arcade in the Games hub. Trivia Arcade is a for-fun solo run with no rewards; Live Trivia is a live, multiplayer event with Gem prizes. See Games in Cointiply Labs.
How to join
You don't have to hunt for it — Cointibot announces each game in chat:
- A little before a game starts, Cointibot posts a Live Trivia lobby card in Community Chat ("Live Trivia is starting soon — tap to join").
- Tap the card to open the trivia lobby. That's it — you're entered.
- The lobby shows a countdown, the players already in the room, and the prize pool. Wait for the countdown to hit zero and the first question appears.
The card updates itself: it flips to Live now while a game is running and to Ended once it's over (tap it then to view the results). The whole game plays out in the lobby window — chat itself is never spammed.
How a game plays
- Each game is a set of fast multiple-choice questions (about 10 per game).
- When a question appears, a timer ring counts down. Tap the answer you think is right before it runs out.
- You get one answer per question — once you lock it in, you can't change it, so balance speed with accuracy.
- After the timer, the round reveals the correct answer and how many points you scored, then rolls into the next question.
- A live standings panel is always on screen so you can see who's in the room and who's leading.
Scoring — it's points, not Coins or Gems
Your placement is decided by points, which are just the game's score (they are not Coins and not Gems). You earn more points by:
- Answering correctly — a base amount per correct answer.
- Answering fast — the quicker you lock in a correct answer, the bigger the speed bonus.
- Being first — the first person to answer a question correctly gets an extra bonus.
- Building a streak — consecutive correct answers stack a small multiplier.
Whoever finishes with the most points tops the board.
Prizes
The top finishers win Gems — the Crack the Vault currency. Prizes scale with the number of players, with a headline top prize of around 1,500 Gems and smaller Gem prizes for the next places. When the game ends, Cointibot posts a results card showing the winners, their scores, and the Gems awarded, and the Gems are added to your account automatically.
Gems have no cash value — they're an in-game currency you spend inside Crack the Vault, not something you can withdraw. Only Coins (10,000 Coins = $1) are withdrawable. See Gems: What They Are & How to Earn Them.
A game needs a minimum number of players for prizes to pay out; if too few people join, the round is voided and no Gems are awarded.
Tips
- Get in early. Join from the lobby card so you're entered before the first question.
- Speed matters, but so does accuracy. A wrong answer scores nothing — read the options before you tap.
- Chase the streak. Stringing correct answers together is worth more than one lucky fast guess.
- See a bad question? Tap Report question — it's pulled from the bank and reviewed.
- Play from any device. The lobby works on desktop and mobile.
