Code Breaker Boost: The Co-op Crack-the-Code Event

Code Breaker Boost is a cooperative event in Crack the Vault. The vault exposes a secret code, and the crew has to read a logic pattern and vote which symbol comes next — think of it as a live, team IQ test. Crack the whole code together and everyone who helped triggers a community MEGA ATTACK on the vault.

When does it happen?

It's one of the vault's random live events — you can't schedule it. It fires on its own when enough players have been active recently (a team puzzle needs a team), and it's kept rare so it stays special. When it starts you'll see a "CODE BREAKER BOOST!" announcement and the puzzle overlay opens.

How to read the pattern

Each symbol is a compound glyph built from up to three things, and each one can follow its own pattern:

  • Shape (e.g. circle, triangle, square)
  • Colour (a distinct cipher colour)
  • Rotation — a small pointer on the glyph shows which way it's turned (a quarter-turn at a time)

The terminal shows a row of glyphs, then a "?". Work out the logic of each track — a steady step (e.g. the rotation turning a quarter each time), a short repeating loop, or two alternating runs — and figure out which glyph should come next. Then pick it from the multiple-choice options shown below the pattern.

Difficulty is mixed: some rounds only move one thing (easier), others move two at once (harder). You don't have to be certain — reason out what you can and vote your best guess.

How to play

  1. Read the pattern and decide the next symbol.
  2. Vote by tapping a candidate. Each vote costs a small amount of Gems (currently 5 Gems), and you can cast up to a few votes per round (currently 5) to add weight.
  3. Each round is short (currently 15 seconds). When it ends, the crew's top-voted symbol is submitted.
  4. A round needs a minimum number of total votes — a quorum (currently 3) — to be assessed. Below that it's skipped (no progress, no penalty), so one stray tap can't decide the code.
  5. Get it right and one slot of the code is cracked. Get it wrong and the security trace climbs. Too many wrong answers (currently 3) trips the lockout and the attempt fails.
  6. Crack every slot before the trace maxes out to win.

Crew chat

The overlay has a small crew chat so players can coordinate — call out the pattern, argue for a symbol, and rally votes ("it's the triangle — the rotation flips!"). Chat is ephemeral (it isn't saved) and free to use.

The reward: a community MEGA ATTACK

Crack the code and the crew unleashes a MEGA ATTACK on the vault. Every player who voted is credited real vault power, scaled to the Gems they spent — the more you helped, the bigger your share. Because votes are cheap and the payout multiplier is large, cracking the code is well worth it.

When you win, the success screen holds for a few seconds with a countdown, then the modal closes so everyone can watch the mega attack slam the vault.

Good to know

  • Gems have no cash value. Vote costs and rewards here are the in-game Gems currency for Crack the Vault — you spend them on gear to attack the vault, and they can't be withdrawn. Only Coins (10,000 Coins = $1) are withdrawable.
  • You need to be signed in to vote or chat. Anyone in Crack the Vault can watch.
  • If the code isn't cracked before the event's timer runs out, the intrusion times out and no attack lands.
  • Exact numbers (vote cost, round length, code length, trace limit, reward multiplier) can be tuned by the team, so treat the figures above as the current setup.
