Orb Rush: Ranked Races
Ranked Orb Rush is a real race against 2–8 other players on the same map, for a shared prize pool.
From the Arcade Play tab, pick a stake and tap Find a match.
Joining
Searching is free. Your stake is only taken when a lobby forms and the race starts. If nobody shows up, nothing is charged.
The lobby waits a couple of minutes so more racers can join — a fuller race means a bigger pool. A full lobby of 8 starts right away.
Paid ranked lobbies stay within one league of yours (Silver can sit with Bronze or Gold, Diamond only with Platinum). If your league is thin, Bronze / Silver / Gold can opt in to higher-Elo races for a faster fill. Beta is one shared lobby. Details: Orb Rush Elo.
With 4–7 racers in a ranked lobby, anyone can tap Start early. The heat launches as soon as 3 racers vote (not a majority). 2–3 racers still wait out the fill window.
Each race gets a fresh upcoming map plus three alternatives. That pick is used unless another map on the slate gets 3 votes first.
Need more people? Call for racers posts a join card in community chat with seats left, time remaining, and a Join button. The card disappears when that lobby starts or empties, and shouts are spaced out so chat isn't stacked with stale calls.
While you wait in a ranked lobby, any other ranked lobby that already has racers shows up so you can jump over. Empty lobbies stay hidden.
Everyone in the lobby pays the same stake.
Stakes
| Lobby | Entry | What winners get |
|---|---|---|
| Free Race | Free | Elo, quests, records — no pot |
| 50 Coins | 50 Coins | Coin podium plus the same amounts in Gems |
How the prize is paid
A small cut comes out of the 50 Coin pot. Part of that feeds your league's nightly Coin pool. What's left is paid by place in Coins, and the same amounts are paid again in Gems (1 Gem per Coin of the podium). Last place never cashes. This is the only way on Cointiply to convert Coins into Gems.
How many people finish the race decides the split:
- 2 finishers — winner takes all
- 3–4 finishers — 70% / 30%
- 5–6 finishers — 60% / 30% / 10%
- 7–8 finishers — 55% / 27% / 13% / 5%
If you don't finish, you don't share the pot — and there's no refund just for a DNF. After the first racer finishes, anyone still under 60% of the course is cut shortly after; everyone else has 45 seconds to cross the line (a countdown shows on your HUD).
The Play screen shows a live preview of what 1st–4th would pay in a full lobby.
If the race isn't fair
Your stake is refunded in full when:
- The race is a draw (for example, nobody finishes)
- The race is called off (a technical problem)
- The lobby never actually collects entries
If a racer never starts, they're dropped after a short wait so everyone else can finish and get paid. If nobody races, everyone is refunded.
Fair times
Your device only sends how you played. Our servers re-run the race to get the official time — a modified client can't invent a result. Impossible times are thrown out, and copying someone else's run is flagged.
The other orbs you see mid-race are a live estimate and can be a second or two off in a tight heat. Place, prizes, and Elo always use the replay, not what any one screen showed.
Elo and leagues
Every ranked race moves your Elo — 1st always gains at least a little, and 2nd in an even heat still climbs. A win streak (1st place in a row) adds a little extra Elo on top. That rating is your league. Details: Orb Rush Elo and Orb Rush Leagues.
